On October 27, the Human Rights Research Center (HRRC) and the Faculty of Law of the European University of Armenia signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for sustainable cooperation and mutual support in the field of human rights education and research.
The aim of the collaboration between HRRC and the European University of Armenia is to foster the advancement of scientific knowledge and practical skills in the field of human rights protection, as well as conduction of joint projects between HRRC and the Legal Clinic at the Faculty of Law.
Anahit Simonyan, Director of the Human Rights Research Center, and Isabella Iskandaryan, the Chair of Law and the Head of the Legal Clinic of the of the European University of Armenia, have agreed to establish sustainable cooperation in the field of human rights education and research.
The Parties' priorities include:
Enhancing students' abilities, specifically by bolstering the skills and knowledge of those participating in the Legal Clinic, with a focus on human rights protection.
Collaborating on joint projects with the Legal Clinic to reinforce the link between research, higher education, and the protection of human rights, particularly labor rights, in Armenia.
Exchanging experiences and resources in areas of mutual interest.
After signing the MoU, Anahit Simonyan and Isabella Iskandaryan discussed various aspects of their future cooperation, including plans for organizing an Evening School focused on legal research and international human rights mechanisms.
HRRC’s cooperation with academic institutions is supported by the European Endowment for Democracy (EED).
