Evening School

Where Education Meets Collaboration

Evening School, a groundbreaking project by Human Rights Research Center (HRRC), is driven by a strong commitment to fostering a research-oriented culture and promoting knowledge of human rights within academic environments. HRRC recognizes these objectives as top priorities in the pursuit of the organization in advancing human rights education and strengthening capacity of academia to engage in evidence-based human rights advocacy.

Evening Schools are being implemented through united efforts with HRRC's academic partners.

The purpose of Evening School initiative is to actively cultivate an environment that nurtures a research-driven mindset and encourages scholarly exploration of human rights issues. The Evening School is HRRC's ongoing initiative and in this regard HRRC is open for cooperation with each academic institution that shares the values and the objectives underlying this initiative. 

By placing emphasis on research, the Evening School empowers participants to delve into critical topics, engage in rigorous analysis, and contribute to the growing body of knowledge in the field of human rights.

Overview 

Format

The Evening School offers an additional curriculum to empower students and early-career professionals with knowledge and skills for conducting high-quality human rights research, increasing awareness about international norms of human rights protection and undertaking effective contribution to human rights advocacy in their academic and professional pursuits. The Evening School provides an invaluable networking opportunity, allowing participants to interact with leading human rights experts and practitioners in Armenia and beyond. These connections can lead to future partnerships, research opportunities, and engagement in human rights initiatives domestically and internationally.

Content

The Evening School encompasses a comprehensive range of topics, addressing​ human rights research and research-based operation, international and regional human rights instruments and selected issue of human rights protection. 

This diverse content is based on multidisciplinary approach to human rights research and practice. It provides 

a well-rounded understanding of human rights principles and practices and necessary skills to conduct high-quality research in the field of human rights protection.

Audience

The Evening School is tailored for graduate students and early career professionals who possess a foundational understanding of research. These are individuals who seek to expand their knowledge and expertise in the realm of human rights protection. They come from different academic and professional backgrounds, including law, sociology, journalism, economics, health care, education, etc.
