The 3rd International Conference on Human Rights Research in Armenia brought together a vibrant community of researchers, students, and practitioners — underscoring the vital role evidence-based inquiry plays in understanding the realities and complexities of human rights today.

This year's conference, organised by the Raoul Wallenberg Institute (RWI), the Université française en Arménie (UFAR), and the Human Rights Research Center (HRRC), with the support of the Embassy of Sweden in Armenia, offered a dynamic platform grounded in rigorous research and a shared commitment to advancing human rights in Armenia and beyond.

Researchers, lawyers, students, activists, and human rights practitioners from Armenia and abroad came together, creating a truly interdisciplinary space where ideas, findings, and practical experiences could meaningfully intersect.

Over two intensive days, discussions explored:

🔹 social and environmental rights

 🔹 business and human rights

🔹 rights of forcibly displaced persons from Nagorno-Karabakh

 🔹 women’s rights and gender-based violence

🔹 rule of law and anti-corruption justice

 🔹 housing rights and homelessness

🔹 conflict, peace, and intersectional justice

🔹 digital rights and new technologies

HRRC and UFAR co-led the panel on Human Rights and Housing, sharing our recent research on the right to adequate housing and long-term homelessness in Armenia, and fostering discussion on both policy and practice.

The discussions and shared shared at the conference reminded us how collaboration and evidence-based inquiry continue to shape HRRC’s work — including our eight-year journey advancing human rights in Armenia.

We extend our sincere gratitude to all presenters, moderators, and participants — and especially to our partners RWI and UFAR. This conference not only celebrated human rights research in Armenia and beyond, but also demonstrated the power of collective effort in advancing justice, knowledge, and human dignity.
