HRRC establishes collaboration with the French University in Armenia

On April 29, 2024, the Human Rights Research Center (HRRC) NGO Director Anahit Simonyan and the French University in Armenia (UFAR) Rector Salwa Nacouzi signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), agreeing to a strategic partnership in the area of human rights education and research.


The cooperation of the Human Rights Research Center with academic institutions is aimed at fostering the advancement of scientific basis and practical skills in human rights protection, and this newly established partnership is another important step in that direction.


HRRC-UFAR partnership particularly prioritizes։

  • Student capacity building, enhancement of the skills and knowledge of the students participating in educational programs at the UFAR Law Faculty related to human rights protection.

  • Initiation of joint projects aimed at fostering the ties between research, higher education, and human rights protection, with a specific emphasis on social rights.

  • Exchange of experiences and resources in areas of mutual interest.


After signing the MoU, HRRC Director Anahit Simonyan, UFAR Rector Salwa Nacouzi and UFAR Chair of Law Garine Hovsepian had a working discussion on several aspects of the upcoming cooperation, including the co-organization of the Evening School on "Legal Research and Human Rights Protection Mechanisms".
