HRRC and AUA Human Rights and Social Justice Program jointly launch Legal Research Evening School

The Evening School on Legal Research and Human Rights Protection Mechanisms, a joint initiative by the Human Rights Research Center (HRRC) and the Human Rights Social Justice (HRSJ) Program of the American University of Armenia, was inaugurated on June 20, on the premises of the American University of Armenia. The Evening School is being organized with the support of the European Endowment for Democracy (EED).


Anahit Simonyan, Director of HRRC, and Siranush Sahakyan, Chair of HRSJ, delivered their opening remarks and presented the background and the goals of the program, stressing out the importance of a long-term functioning of the School in the context of the promotion of human rights research in Armenia. The Evening School is designed for fourth-year, Master’s, and Ph.D. students as well as early career specialists.

The School is aimed at raising awareness about international norms of human rights protection among students and early career specialists and developing skills required for conducting quality research in the area of human rights protection.

Participants will have an opportunity to get acquainted with leading local and international experts, expand their knowledge on human rights protection, as well as discuss the possibilities of cooperation with prominent civil society actors.

The Evening School on Legal Research and Human Rights Protection Mechanisms will last until July 12.
